We have to be proactive. (The drug epidemic) is miles ahead of us … we need to think outside the box in how to stop it.
May 16, 2014 – Dealing and using heroin has become an epidemic in the Williamsport area, police and judges say. Authorities say people are coming to Williamsport to buy heroin at prices of $8 to $10 for a baggie containing .0-3 grams.
There have been four confirmed drug overdose deaths in the county so far this year and toxicology test results are awaited on several others.
Sadly, many of us have been impacted in some way by the heroin and opioid abuse happening in our area. This is truly an epidemic and I remain focused on ways we can address this issue. Education and awareness are two of the tools we need to help teach our kids to live drug free lives.
